Sponsorship Information
We are pleased to announce that Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) will bring its annual Computer-Assisted Reporting (CAR) Conference to St. Louis, MO, on February 23 - 26, 2012.
The CAR Conference is internationally renowned and annually attracts 300 - 400 of the top journalists in computer-assisted and investigative reporting. Sessions will cover using cutting-edge technology for reporting, data analysis, data visualization, creating interactive tools, and much more. In addition, we will offer dozens of hands-on classes taught by the best in the business. And many sessions will be geared for beginners.
Each year we depend deeply on the generosity and support of media organizations, foundations and corporations to conduct our conferences. The conferences benefit journalists by offering not only story ideas, but also the guidance in techniques and resources needed to carry out those ideas. They also provide a great recruiting opportunity for conference sponsors.
Support from our sponsors helps us keep our registration fees low, helping to make the conference affordable at a time when training and travel budgets are lean.
IRE is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) educational and professional organization of more than 4,000 journalists working to foster excellence in journalism. Founded in 1975, IRE provides extensive training and resources through seminars, publications and Web site: www.ire.org. IRE also runs the National Institute for Computer-Assisted Reporting, a joint program of IRE and the Missouri School of Journalism. IRE has its offices at the University of Missouri.
For more information, please contact IRE Development Officer Alan Lynes at 573-884-2222 or alan@ire.org.
In addition to sponsorship opportunities, we offer advertising on our website as well as in the conference program, and exhibitor space at the conference.
