Marketing Media Analyst

Are you an expert story teller who can effectively communicate the business value of GIS through a map interface? We are looking for a GIS professional with expertise using Esri software in the media industry to build and deliver maps showing the benefits of GIS to the media.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Product Marketing, Technical Marketing, and Product Management to develop stories, maps, and screen shots to market Esri technology to mainstream press and broadcast media

  • Attend and support corporate and product marketing events such as trade shows and user conferences

  • Support Product Management by assisting in the creation of market requirements and participating in holistic testing efforts

  • Position and promote Esri map products to prospective and existing customers, press, and analysts

  • Work with other members of the Marketing department to validate messaging based on product experience

  • Own the relationship with the technical community in the media industry and provide them valuable, easy-to-use resources through a Media Resource Center

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher in GIS, computer science, journalism, or a related field

  • Three or more years of professional experience in media relations

  • Extensive working knowledge of Esri software solutions as well as other GIS solutions

  • Strong communication skills with the specific ability to understand and convey technical information in a non-technical manner

  • Understanding of how to secure and use data to support stories through map creation for print, web, and broadcast media

  • Customer-oriented and a team player

  • Creative problem solver, self-starter, detail- and task-oriented, able to successfully manage multiple priorities, and work well in a cross-functional team

Recommended Qualifications

  • Strong spatial analytics skills

  • Application design and implementation experience
