If you have exceptional visual storytelling skills and enjoy using natural sound to advance storytelling and display creativity and initiative in nonvisual stories, making them compelling visually by the use of editing techniques, graphics, stand ups, document and product shooting and lighting, this is the position for you. The successful candidate must be comfortable with the set up and use of undercover gear and in going undercover, must be available for overnight travel and able to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds.
You will work with the investigative team to shoot and produce long-form investigative stories, light and shoot interviews and b-roll and assist producers and reporters with undercover, surveillance and confrontation interviews. You will also work with live microwave vehicles for live shots and edit as needed.
Three to five years shooting experience, knowledge and practice of advanced lighting skills and techniques, including 3 point lighting, use of a soft box, backlighting and two camera interview lighting is necessary in addition to a strong working knowledge of journalistic ethics and libel law.
