Senior Investigative Editor
The Arizona Republic | KPNX-12 News | azcentral.com
This senior editor will guide a team of five reporters producing short- and long-term enterprise and revelatory watchdog, investigative and governmental accountability stories. The team’s coverage areas include immigration, the border, growth and development, the judiciary and education.
This team is one of four within a watchdog/investigative center that has 21 full-time reporters. We are looking for someone who excels at collaborating across platforms, as we create content for print, digital, broadcast and social media in a quality-driven, high-energy newsroom. We are the largest newspaper in Arizona, the leading TV news station in the market and the sixth-largest newspaper website in the country, with about 100 million monthly page views. We will soon launch an evening tablet newsmagazine that will publish five days a week.
Our ideal candidate will be a top-notch idea and story editor; have demonstrated excellence in watchdog, investigative and government-accountability reporting; be familiar and comfortable working with data and analysis; have a strong performance and beat-management background; and a great teacher and motivator for investigative reporters.
You will find examples of some of our most recent work at watchdog.azcentral.com.
Applicants should send a cover letter, links to examples of work they have overseen, and three references to News Watchdog Director Cherrill Crosby at cherrill.crosby@
