| Summary | The Bethesda Gazette series examines the contoversy surrounding National Institutes of Health (NIH) incinerators. The series finds that the NIH does not test emmissions from their three medical waste incinerators. Citizen groups and activists band together to oppose the building of more incinerators until the public is given more information about what the incinerators burn. Follow-up articles show that NIH finally shut down the incinerators and agrred to test the soil around the incinerators. Oct. 1993 - June 1994. |
