The Great Spam Slam
In Nov. 2007, washingtonpost.com ran a series of stories and blog posts Mr. Krebs wrote about the Russian Business network (RBN) led to the company being effectively cut off from the Web. He pursuer a similar strategy in July 2008, when investigating the Silicon Valley-based hosting provider McColo. At the time, Krebs was chronicling the cyber crime activity of Atrivo, another Northern California hosting company. Due to Krebs' reporting, Atrivo's hosting companies cut off connectivity to it, effectively knocking Atrivo offline.

Chinese women seek American husbands online
A number of Chinese women are using Internet services to find husbands in America. This is partly fuelled by a desire for a better life and also by the rise in Internet usage in Chinese urban areas. These marriages have a low success rate which is often ignored by the marriage seekers themselves.

Experts call Comcast Internet software invasive
An investigation by the Ann Arbor News revealed that Internet service provider Comcast was using "spyware" to capture the sites customers visited. The Philadelphia-based company said it was only using that information to improve their service by storeing the most popular sites on the Internet. "But the lengthy privacy statement that customers must sign clearly showed the company had the right to share (customers) online habits with third parties, such as marketing organizations," despite Comcasts assertions that it wouldn't use that information to selectively advertise to Web users.

Wall Street Journal tells the story of big money and big ambition gone awry in a promising technology start-up.. ICG Communications, a telecommunication upstart that provided Internet services, is heading toward Chapter 11 despite industry titans pouring money into the company. ICG borrowed heavily to grow fast, but could not manage its growth. The CEO, a politically-connected jet-setter, was rarely seen in office during troubled times. His shares valued at $88 million in March, is now worth only $980,000.
