Kent State -- 40 Years After May 4
Forty years after the historic Kent State shootings, the Plain Dealer uncovers new evidence about what may have caused the 28 guardsmen to fire at the students and antiwar protesters. Using an audiotape from the incident, witness reports, and key documents, the journalist found evidence that the soldiers were ordered to shoot and that someone or something provoked the order.

Football Scholarships
This story investigates how a number of football players that play for Kent State received full ride scholarships. They received these scholarships without the ACT scores to receive them or any scholarships for that matter. Furthermore, there are a number of other students who have the grades and ACT scores to receive these scholarships, but don’t because the money is all used up.

Did State Fund Overpay in Redding Land Deal?
State Compensation Insurance Fund board member Kent Dagg was pushed for State Fund to build a new regional headquarters in his city of Redding, California. SCIF overpaid for the property by almost 50 percent, and the contract was given to a former officer of the Shasta County Builders Exchange, which was run by Kent Dagg.

Your Schools, Your Money: Dallas school district credit card oversight lax
The Dallas Morning News found more than $6 million in unsupervised credit card purchases that violated state procurement laws or district purchasing contracts. Reporters also discovered hundreds of purchases that had nothing to do with educating kids.
