This four-part radio series investigation found that D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams broke his promise that no taxpayer money would be spent on a new baseball stadium. In fact, more than $500,000 worth of out-of-town contracts were awarded to former colleagues of D.C.'s City Administrator who was from Oakland, CA.

Mather Field is a newly converted air force base now being operated by the County of Sacramento as a general aviation and cargo airport. Several key safety and security measures are being ignored so the county can get the facility operating quickly at little cost. Minnesota Public Radio examines the issue of commuter airline safety snd found an unsettling inability of the Federal Aviation Administration, Northwest Airline and the airline's major partner to adequately ensure the safety of passengers. The investigation also found the commuter pilots are using a dangerous and unapproved approach during icy conditions called the "slam dunk approach" which involves a rapid descent through icy conditions to the runway; as a result of the series, the FAA increased its oversight of commuter airlines in the Northwest, Apr. 4 - 7, 1994.

slum landlord
CBC Radio exposed a slum landlord in Edmonton who was using the welfare system to exploit his tenants who were on social assistance by interceting and cashing their welfare checks and charging high rent. Reporters found that the landlord supplied the social services department with false information so that the checks could be sent directly to him, among other violations, Oct. 4, 1994.
