A vague sentence at the bottom of most insurance contracts, exclusion 39, is causing big problems for some people. But the rule stands, because it is part of an independent contract, and the government has limited intervention in those matters. The rule says that any person injured while committing an illegal act may not be covered. Strangely enough, however, the insurance companies don't even need any proof to claim illegality. And the court's ruling is independent of the company's.
