WCCO made consumer investigation a priority in 1994 and broadcast an ongoing series on consumer topics that had received little publicity before, such as retail scanners, infant formula, retail redlining and odometer fraud. As a result, stores began offering free items when scanners overcharged; the FDA is nationally investigating infant formula problems;three chains adjusted prices on products featured in the report; and, the state changed the way it processed odometer statements on older cars, Feb. 10, 1994, April 28, 1994, Feb 28, 1994, Nov. 27, 1994.
