Description

NBC News went undercover to China to expose the hidden business dealings of ht Chinese military. The six-month investigation revealed that the Chinese army had shipped more than one million cheap, powerful simi-automatic rifles to the United States. Many of these guns sold for less than $150, about one-tenth the cost of simialr American models. The refles, made more accessible because of these bargain prices, have shown up time and time again in some of America's most publicized random shootings. Two months after this story aired, President Clinton banned the importation of the Chinese rifles featured in the report.
