Description

The Bulletin takes an indepth look at the plutonium experiment that occurred between 1944 and 1974 and how some of the details found in documents collected by the Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments clash with its overall assessment of the situation. Although over 4,000 human radiation experiments were conducted, the committee found that only a few hundred people should get medical notification, compensation, or even an apology from the federal government. (January/February 1996)
