Paul Kandarian takes a look inside the world of Rhode Island's juvenile offenders who reside in the Rhode Island Training School, aka "The Bad Boys School," the state's oldest juvenile detention facility. The school is currently the home to 210 kids ranging from ages 9 to 21 and cost the taxpayers of Rhode Island $78, 852 a year maintain. Five years earlier the school's high school program was so terrible that it was decertified by the state, under new direction it was recertified and is receiving attention as a model for other training schools nationwide. Kandarian also learns that despite the frightening outward appearance, the school has become a very friendly and productive place for kids to learn skills that will help them once they leave the system.
