The St. Petersburg Times finds that psychiatric hospitals and doctors in Pinellas county were committing patients at a much higher rate than was occuring in other counties. The investigation discovered that private psychiatric hospitals, under intense pressure to fill beds, were committing confused, elderly patients at an extraordinary rate. (May 21 - 25, 1995)
