Philadelphia Magazine highlights the growing controversy over prescribing antidepressants for children by look at the case of 10-year-old Jeremy, who has panic attacks that keep him out of school. Not only are the effects of antidepressants on growing bodies and brains unknown, there is also the fear that the normal emotional obstacles of adolescence will not be properly hurdled. The trend to medicate children also creates big interest for pharmaceutical giants.
