Description

WLL's yearlong investigation of the charter school transportation system in New Orleans exposed major safety and organizational failures, abusive drivers and fly-by-night bus companies serving clueless and ill-prepared school leaders. With every New Orleans public school run by a private charter management organization and a new, unfunded mandate to provide transportation to all students, they found dozens of small bus operators swooping in to fill the need and then cutting corners and even fabricating records to avoid rising insurance costs.
