The series features Lori Jane Gliha’s dogged reporting, giving a voice to a deceased young man with no criminal history who died after a questionable altercation with police and after being injected, by paramedics, with a sedative.Gliha filed multiple open records requests from the start, and as she waited for those to be filled, she used shoe-leather reporting to exclusively track down surveillance video of the victim to show his calm demeanor as he shopped in a convenience store moments before police confronted him. They said they had received a 911 call saying the young man looked “sketchy” while wearing a black ski mask in the middle of summer.
