Description

Pharmacy fraud defrauds the public purse millions of dollars each year, rerouting monies intended to help the neediest members of society into the pockets of criminals. In Ontario, the problem has been flagged by the Auditor General four times, in reports going back more than 20 years to 1996. Yet, as the collaborative investigation carried out by the Toronto Star and Global News showed, little has been done to crack down on those pharmacists who take money earmarked for the sick and vulnerable.
