Description

Too often, we write stories about people that report around them -- but don't include them. That happens a lot with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and this panel will focus on ways to make journalism for and about the main characters by using techniques including audience engagement, storytelling and plain language translation. We'll hear from a self-advocate with IDD about why journalism is important to her and how we can do it better.
