Building a more inclusive newsroom culture: working past our differences

Newsrooms and journalism classrooms are not immune from the same misunderstandings, tensions and disagreements that we see in a global, multicultural society. In this session, we'll discuss how to build a stronger team by addressing, working through, and healing from tensions, some of which can arise from what's deemed as microaggressions and in other cases, behaviors tied to power dynamics that can arise on this journey.
