Dear Friends and Members of IRE:
This has been a remarkable year for IRE. Our two annual conferences were among the largest we’ve held, our trainers worked with journalists in 23 states and in Latin America, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe, and membership is at its highest point in many years.
Our reach has grown, strengthening IRE’s 38-year commitment to teaching journalists ways to uncover facts that make a difference. We stretch each dollar we receive to strengthen the investigative reporting skills of journalists in every medium.
More than ever, IRE has been there for you. To continue this work, we need you to be there for IRE.
We're offering you a way to double the impact of your support this year. Every donation made to support our Freelance Fellowship program will be matched up to a total of $15,000, thanks to a generous donation from the donor who established the fund, which provides financial support for independent journalists working on investigative projects.
I have already donated and hope you will join me and other IRE board members in giving to support this program. To designate your donation for this program, please name the “Freelance Fellowship” on the online form or in the memo line of your check.
We also need the support of grant-making foundations. It’s important that they see strong support from our 4,800 members, not just in attendance at training sessions, but in gifts of any size.
