Send in your entries for the 2016 NICAR T-shirt contest

NICAR will once again be selling a T-shirt in celebration of data and the people who love and care for them, which will help raise money for future NICAR training events.

NICAR is currently accepting ideas and designs for T-shirts. We will accept entries up through Sunday, Jan. 31. Send official entries to shirts@ire.org. Only submissions sent to that email will be entered in the contest.

Designs will be posted to the contest page as they are received. Voting will open on Feb. 1 and close on Sunday, Feb. 7. 

The designer of the winning T-shirt gets a free shirt and $50 in the IRE Store.

We’ll take JPGs, PNGs, PDFs or any other format you can come up with. All ideas are welcome, from a simple, classic design with NICAR on it to bad SQL puns (SELECT * FROM tshirts WHERE tshirts.thisone = “Awesome”).

There are only a few guidelines:

• The T-shirt should include NICAR or National Institute for Computer-Assisted Reporting somewhere on it, but shouldn’t be designed specifically for the 2016 CAR Conference.
• It must be work appropriate.
• There are no restrictions on colors or design, but keep in mind the more detailed/multi-colored the graphic work the costlier it will be for NICAR to print the shirts.
• By sending in the suggestion to NICAR you don’t retain rights to the final T-shirt. (This does not include bragging rights, which the designer will maintain in perpetuity.)
