Description

This presentation will examine the use of public records laws to obtain databases from government agencies. Think big: get access to every criminal case in your county, every prisoner in your state, every injured federal employee. Also, dog license databases make for great stories. We will go from soup to nuts, looking at how to file a request, how to negotiate for it, and what to expect upon delivery. This presentation will not review analysis tools like spreadsheet or database software, but it will teach you how to get the stuff to analyze.
