Description

The College Scorecard, conceived in response to the negative effects of high-profile college rankings, provided the public for the first time with information about the earnings of graduates who attended a school as well as their typical student loan debt and repayment rates. A vast federal database underlies the tool, including fields breaking down outcomes for socioeconomic and demographic groups at each school. This presentation will walk through what’s what in the database, as well as how to clean it, analyze it and turn it into stories, from quick hits to in-depth projects.
