Description

The story explores secret elements of the deal between the city of Detroit and the Detroit Tigers to build a new stadium. Among other things, the team owner was given the right to control parking for an area covering one-sixth of downtown Detroit; all tax revenues would go into stadium upkeep instead of public coffers; no other businesses would be allowed within the stadium's considerable "footprint"; and a legally questionable tactic was being used to seize the land of private citizens in order to turn it over to the team owner.
