Description

This was a four-month, computer-assisted investigation of EMTs and paramedics. News 15 discovered dozens of paramedics who had lied about their criminal history on their applications, despite laws requiring disclosure. The story showed that the state wasn't bothering to check backgrounds. The story also disclosed that, despite new rules barring felons convicted of certain crimes (assault, sexual molestation, murder), the state was continuing to allow some of these individuals to remain certified.
