The IRE Board of Directors is the governing body of Investigative Reporters and Editors.Â
This year, six of 13 board seats are up for election. Board members serve two-year terms.
There are also two elected seats open on the IRE Contest Committee (one-year terms). The Contest Committee judges the IRE Awards.
Declared candidates can be found on our Meet the Candidates page.
Current IRE membership is required to run for election. The deadline to apply is May 6.
The IRE Board of Directors is meeting online Friday, April 18, at 10 a.m. EST. The agenda will be posted soon; it will include an update on planning for IRE25, set for June 19-22, in New Orleans, and information on how to run for the board. The meeting is open to active members. Registration is required.
In a related matter, the board is considering an amendment to the IRE Code of Bylaws that would allow the appointment of a financial professional to the IRE Board’s Finance Committee. IRE members have until April 23 to comment on the proposed amendment. Send comments to Treasurer Mark Greenblatt at mark.greenblatt@asu.edu or to Sarah Cohen, chair of the board's Governance Committee, at sarah.h.cohen@gmail.com.
IRE is offering a new membership perk during our spring member drive. Join or renew your membership by Monday, April 28 to receive a 50% discounted subscription to DeleteMe services.
