In this webinar, Bright Data will share examples and techniques journalists can use to map social media, and comb accounts to keep those with influence and power accountable. Speakers Jennifer Burns and Michael Newton will focus mainly on X, but they will touch on other social media platforms as well. They will also share examples of work from media partners who have used Bright Data to strengthen their journalism.

Speakers

Diana Fuentes, IRE & NICAR (moderator)
Diana is a second-generation Texan who grew up on the Texas-Mexico border. She is an award-winning journalist with more than 35 years' experience, from copy editor and cops reporter to executive editor and publisher. She serves on Headliners Foundation of Texas Board of Governors, was past president of the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas and served on the national board of National Association of Hispanic Journalists, among other activities.

Jennifer Burns, Bright Data
Jennifer is the Director of PR and Communications at Bright Data, a global DaaS company, and runs a data and OSINT tool program designed for journalists and newsrooms to access public web data. After spending 20 years in TV news, operating this program is a natural fit that Jennifer is passionate about.

Michael Newton, Bright Data
Michael is a data extraction expert and analyst for Bright Data's PR team, serving as a core member of the journalist program. He brings more than a decade of experience in various data roles using innovative solutions to allow for data-backed decisions and storytelling.
