Kat Stafford, Reuters (moderator)
Kat Stafford is the Global Race and Justice Editor at Reuters. She is an award-winning journalist, whose work has centered on covering and investigating how structural racism has fueled inequity across America. She is the former vice president of IRE's Board of Directors, and she currently sits on the management subcommittee of the board’s member services committee.
Daniela Ibarra, KSAT
Daniela Ibarra is an award-winning investigative reporter at KSAT in her hometown, San Antonio, Texas. Before heading back home, she worked at KTUL in Tulsa, Oklahoma where her reporting was credited with changing state law. Daniela began her career at KTXS in Abilene, Texas. She served on the national boards of the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Daniela graduated from the University of North Texas and is the proud daughter of Ecuadorian immigrants. Ibarra is one of IRE's 2025 Chauncey Bailey Investigative Reporting Fellows.
Mario Orellana, KSAT
Mario Orellana has been the news director at KSAT since 2023 He started his career at KSAT 12 as a sports intern in 1995, the same year he graduated high school. He was hired as a part-time sports producer in 1996, later becoming a news editor and then a news producer. In 2008, he became executive producer of GMSA, then dayside executive producer in 2014 and was named assistant news director in 2019.
Max Eddy, Wirecutter
Max Eddy is a journalist for Wirecutter. He has covered privacy and security since 2012, with a particular interest in how professionals and individuals can protect themselves from scams and surveillance.
Kim Key, PCMag
Kim Key is Senior Security Analyst for PCMag. She is a writer on a mission to make cybersecurity and online privacy less scary and more understandable for everyone.
