Campaign finance reporting isn’t just a matter of looking at donors and spending reports; you’re covering a system of individual and institutional behaviors and relationships. In this webinar, you’ll discover new ways of thinking about money in politics and learn about ways to find great stories. This will mainly focus on federal stories but we’ll also talk about the state and local levels, so bring your questions.

Derek Willis, University of Maryland Derek Willis is a lecturer in data and computational journalism at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, where he teaches classes on data analysis and related topics. He previously covered campaign finance for ProPublica, The New York Times, The Washington Post and Congressional Quarterly.
