We'll provide you with the tips you need to investigate everything from ridesharing scams to negligent utility companies. Whether you're a general assignment reporter with daily deadlines or a full-time investigative reporter, you will find out how to tell stories that educate viewers, hold the bad actors accountable and solve problems.

Speaker Bios

  • Amy Davis is the consumer investigative reporter at the NBC affiliate in Houston. From hard hitting investigations to fun, talkable product tests, there’s not a consumer story Davis hasn’t tackled in her 21 years of broadcast news. Her work has landed scam artists in prison and changed state laws and city ordinances in Houston, San Antonio, Beaumont & Asheville, North Carolina. Davis is married to a fellow investigative reporter with 3 children. @KPRC2Amy

  • Nydia Han is 6abc's Consumer Investigative Reporter and co-anchor of Action News Sunday mornings. She is an Emmy award winning journalist, TEDx speaker, and creator of the docu-series, #ThisIsAmerica. Prior to joining WPVI in 2002, Nydia worked for KTRK in Houston, Texas, and KOCO in Oklahoma City. Nydia received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a focus on International Studies from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. @nydia_han

  • Jason Knowles is a Consumer Investigator for the ABC 7 I-Team in Chicago.  Knowles has been part of the I-Team for close to 6 years and has worked at the station for 15 years.  Jason is known for warning viewers about the latest rip- offs and schemes. He's exposed dozens of alleged con-artists and recovered thousands of dollars for consumers. He's uncovered potential Red Light Camera Traps, Real Estate Scams and problems with toxic Lead Paint and Lead Water.
