2021 Virtual TV Watchdog Workshop: Upping your game

IRE’s TV Watchdog Workshops are going virtual in 2021, allowing us to reach more journalists and keep everyone safe during the pandemic. These half-day workshops are open to IRE members and will focus on tips and techniques for journalists working in television news.

We’ll offer several sessions to improve your ability to produce watchdog and enterprise stories for broadcast as well as time to network with other attendees. Learn how to frame every story with a watchdog lens, master the art of pitching an investigative story, and get tips on how to request records when you only have 10 minutes.

Expected speakers include Samah Assad, WBBM Chicago; Nicole Carr, WSB Atlanta; Patti DiVincenzo, IRE/NICAR; Eric Flack, WUSA Washington, D.C.; Cindy Galli, ABC News; and Ashley Graham, WBBH Fort Meyers.

This program is made possible thanks to support from Knight Foundation.
