    2019 Data Viz Boot Camp

    Learn how to uncover hidden stories and visualize them using Tableau at this intensive mini-boot camp.

    IRE and NICAR trainers will show how to build rich charts and maps, and then weave them into interactive dashboards and stories that can be shared on the web.

    Training will cover best practices in data viz and how to build responsive interactives.

    Participants should have experience working with data in spreadsheets, database managers or programming languages. No coding experience is required in this training. You can take this mini-boot camp alone or immediately after IRE’s Computer-Assisted Reporting boot camp. 

    All IRE members qualify for free Tableau Desktop and Prep licenses.

    2019 New Orleans Watchdog Workshop

    Hosted by: IRE in conjunction with the NLGJA National Convention

    IRE will offer several of its core sessions, designed to improve your ability to find information on the Web quickly, and point you to key documents and data that will help you add depth to your daily work and produce quick-hit enterprise stories. In addition, this workshop will give you tips on bulletproofing stories, interviewing, digging deeper on the Web with social media, search engines and much more.

    These sessions are designed for reporters, editors, and producers from small, midsize and large publications, TV, radio stations, Web-only news sites and news blogs. Freelancers, students and journalism educators are also encouraged to attend.
