Associate - Investigative Interviewer

Quinlan Partners is a leading boutique investigations, due diligence, and business intelligence firm that is seeking an Associate (Investigative Interviewer) to join our team in our New York City office.

The Associate will focus on conducting investigative interviews for qualitative due diligence and business intelligence projects, as well as other investigative matters. They will join a team of seasoned corporate investigators, former investigative journalists and attorneys, and contribute to a rapidly growing firm - one that has garnered the loyalty and trust of clients at top global law firms, corporations, investment firms and NGOs around the world.

Full-time employee as well as contract opportunities available (hybrid work arrangement).

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct investigative interviews with human sources and witnesses for purposes of quantitative and qualitative due diligence and business intelligence assignments, or gathering facts and evidence in connection with disputes.
  • Draft and edit client-ready investigative reports, and brief senior management and clients on findings from investigations.
  • Work with the senior leadership team on drafting research proposals, brief clients, and assist in certain aspects of client management and development; adhere to corresponding budgets and timelines.
  • Contribute to efforts to raise company profile by participating in networking events and conferences, as well as generate ideas / write thought leadership pieces for publication.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, political science, international relations/affairs, or related areas.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in corporate investigations, investigative or business journalism, or related fields.
  • Exceptional interviewing and/or on-the-ground investigative experience; outstanding investigative instinct and judgment; intellectual curiosity.
  • Demonstrated track record of conducting interview-based projects in investigative and market research context for private equity firms, hedge funds, and other institutional investors.
  • Comfortable working on projects across industries, and will have an understanding of software and finance terminology.
  • Experience executing deadline-driven research projects within corresponding budgets.
  • Advanced writing and editing skills, with superior attention to detail and willingness to provide feedback and guidance to others.
  • Experience in successfully maintaining (and growing) client relationships is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in the MS Suite / Google Suite.
