Description

The Rivard Report broke the story of a proposed crude oil pipeline 30 inches in diameter that would cross the sensitive Edwards Aquifer on its way from West Texas to the Gulf Coast. The aquifer is San Antonio’s main source of drinking water, and an oil spill over its sensitive recharge zone could be a catastrophe. After we published a map of the proposed route and in response to organizing by landowners in the area, the company said it would move its plans for the line away from the aquifer.
