In this series, KSL 5 examine how the Utah legislature continues to cut back on requirements for contractors to deal with our state’s housing needs. Lawmakers tell us to combat bad actors, consumers have the state agency, Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL), to resolve any issues. But, the KSL Investigators found DOPL discipline rates are not high, and their website makes it hard for consumers to do their homework on a contractor before they hire them, including not posting citations against companies.
