Description

The story deals with the crumbling flood mitigation system in Johnstown, which has a history of flooding. After getting a document from the Army Corps of Engineers indicating the walls were in unsatisfactory condition, we drove the length of the flood wall and took pictures of all the side channels. We discovered that the flood walls would wash away in the event of another such natural disaster. Homes had in part collapsed into the channel system and schools had walls falling in, which made them unsafe for local children.
