Description

More than a year after the killing of George Floyd, the FBI's new national Use of Force database has yet to be released publicly. While participation is rising, the FBI has said thousands of America's police agencies have yet to disclose information to the federal effort, preventing it from publicly sharing all of what has been collected so far. Go behind the story with Newsy’s investigative team that was first to expose many of the nation’s largest police agencies who didn’t participate, and learn how every reporter in any market in the country can now easily check up on their own local police (without a FOIA) to find out if they have -- or have not -- sent the FBI their use of force disclosures yet. You'll walk away from this panel with a story you can turn in your market while learning the pitfalls to avoid while reporting on this topic.
