Description

Consumer Reports’ watershed investigation prompted a national outcry over how inclined sleepers had come on the market despite a lack of pre-market safety testing and how they had remained there for 10 years, in the face of hundreds of incidents and contradictory medical evidence—all of which CR carefully documented. CR also shed light on a little-known government law that shielded manufacturers from public scrutiny, even after officials learned of injuries and deaths.
