One of the worst kept secrets in Dallas, Texas, is how many suburban students attend the Dallas school district's renowned arts magnet high school, Booker T. Washington. Board policy dictates that Dallas students be given preference, but our reporting revealed that parents living in wealthy suburbs forged residency documents to cheat low-income students — who comprise nearly 90% of the Dallas school district — out of coveted slots, while Dallas school administrators looked the other way.
