Description

Audio recording of "How to organize and sequence complex investigations: A conversation with the 2023 Livingston Award winners," a session at the IRE 2023 conference in Orlando on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Session description: Investigative journalism plays a crucial role in laying bare abuses of power, but it requires meticulous planning and execution. Drawing from their work unraveling the largest public fraud in Mississippi's history and revealing how U.S. government officials heedlessly advanced their child separation policy, this year's Livingston Award winners will share their strategies and techniques for organizing interviews and source materials and crafting a clear and compelling investigative narrative.

This session is sponsored by the Wallace Center for Journalists. IRE retains control of content, including the topic and speaker selection, for all conference sessions.
