The Philadelphia Inquirer runs a series that showed how the Register of Wills has used his office to political and financial advantage for 15 years, giving people jobs in return for political support. It also found that employees in the office had the worst sick leave record in city government, that the Register often spent the day shuttling between his various businesses, and that he used key aides in the office to help with his private business, Oct. 16 - 18, 1994.
