The Minneapolis Star Tribune investigates the claim made by a company that runs public schools which was making impressive claims; found that the company falsely reported its test scores, made false promises, exagerrated its accomplishments and raised a lot of money by calling itself a minority-owned firm though it was headed by a white male. The series prompted the Hartford, Conn. school district to slow down its plans to hire the firm, June 4, July 13, Aug. 3, 24, 30, 1994.
