Description

The story examined how United Parcel Service has, in part, built its business by putting profits before that safety and health of its workforce. Despite a public profile of a charity-minded company that believes in team work and treating employees like family, the Chronicle looked behind the PR and found a record of deaths, injuries and accidents and repeated violations of government regulations that make UPS one of the worst employers in the nation in terms of health and safety issues.
