This investigation revealed that for seven years, a northern Virginia county government had been illegally storing and possibley even dumping hazardous waste right in the middle of a busy residential area. Neither the neighborhood nor the workers handling the material had any ida the danger they may have been in. WJLA-TV's investigation revealed in 1992 three contract workers died using the very same chemical to clean county sewage tanks, yet no precautions were taken to detect or prevent a similar tragedy in other departments.
