Description

Americans who worked for and lived near the nation's nuclear weapons plants had periodically raised health concerns over the years that were mostly discounted or ignored. The Tennessean found that no one - not the federal government, public health agencies or lawmakers - had ever taken a comprehensive look at their health. The newspaper interviewed more than 400 of them at 13 sites across the nation and found they suffer a series of immune, neurological and respiratory symptoms their doctors can't explain.
