The California Aggie, the student newspaper for the University of California at Davis, details the "continued use of affirmative action" at the university. "Many Californians thought the passage of Proposition 209 in 1996, which made illegal the use of affirmative action in admission in practices, also illegalized affirmative action in all regards." The California Aggie, however, found that affirmative action was still practiced in hiring staff at UC Davis.
