An investigation by KVBC-TV revealed that when airmen and their families move out of base housing on Nellis Air Force Base they're usually overcharged for damages to their former homes or apartments. KVBC-TV found that the Nellis housing office and a government contractor "routinely gouged enlisted members to turn a profit. The charges exceeded the actual cost for materials and expenses negotiated in the maintenance company's contract."
