Description

This investigation into the Broward Sheriff's Office for falsifying information about crime statistics. Reporters discovered that the sheriff's office "reclassifed crimes to make its crime rate lower; and the way the agency 'cleared' crimes that weren't solved, pushing its crime-solution rate up to an astonishing 50 percent." In one instance, the office placed the guilt of more than 100 crimes on one individual in order to clear crimes faster.
