Description

Dave Moore of the Columbia Daily Tribune looks at city records, only to discover that the city paid out more than $1.4 million dollars in overtime for workers in 2003. The investigation shows that some workers have no choice but to work overtime because their jobs them to be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. In one case, a worker earned over $20,000 in overtime for one year. Boosting his overall pay, the overtime the worker earned $15,000 more than his boss.
